Using the Capture Wizard​

The process for using the Capture Wizard to capture UI elements was already covered in the section "Endpoint Policy Manager Application Settings Manager DesignStudio QuickStart." We will expand on that information here.

When you start a new project after running Endpoint Policy Manager DesignStudio, you are asked to select the application and the correct window, as shown in Figure 59. Sometimes the process name is not obvious.

Be sure to capture the Options or Configuration window of an application, and not the main page, which will often not capture at all and is likely not be what you wanted to capture. Remember that you will mostly be capturing options, properties, and configuration pages.

NOTE: See the section entitled "Special Applications and Project Types" for more information on how to manage Control Panel items, like the mouse properties shown in Figure 58.

After the first tab of your application is captured, you'll be able to select more tabs using the "Capture another tab" button, as shown in Figure 60.

In most cases, your application's look and feel is exactly captured, as shown in Figure 61.

Endpoint Policy Manager DesignStudio usually captures the existing states of the elements as well, such the status of a checkbox or radio button.
